Jireh Bible & Prayer (“Jireh,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) offers a Bible and prayer app and the website at jirehbible.com (together, the “Services”). Prayer is personal, and we treat what you share with us that way. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.
01Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information. Your name, email address, and sign-in details, including when you sign in with Apple or Google.
- Conversations. The messages you type and the voice messages you record when you use Talk with Jesus.
- Prayer and reading activity. Prayer requests, verses you save, reading progress, and the morning and evening prayers you complete.
- Preferences. Settings such as your reading voice, notification times, and Kids mode settings.
- Messages to us. Anything you send when you contact support or join our email list.
Payment information
Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple and Google process your payment. We receive confirmation of your purchase and subscription status. We never see or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically
- Device information. Device type, operating system, app version, language, and time zone.
- Usage information. Features you use, screens you visit, session length, and crash reports.
- Approximate location. A general location (such as country or city) based on your IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location.
02Talk with Jesus and AI
Talk with Jesus is an AI-powered feature. Responses are created by artificial intelligence trained to answer in the spirit of Scripture. They are not written by a person, a pastor, or Jesus Himself.
- When you send a message or voice message, it is processed by our AI service providers so a reply can be created.
- Voice messages are converted to text so they can be answered. Audio is kept only as long as needed to provide the feature.
- Our AI providers process your conversations on our behalf and are not permitted to use them to train their own public models.
- We may review conversations that have been de-identified to keep the feature safe and improve its quality.
- You can delete your conversation history at any time in the app.
Please do not share information you would not want stored, such as passwords, financial account numbers, or government ID numbers.
03How we use information
- Provide the Services, including the Bible, Read to me, sermons, daily prayers, Kids mode, and Talk with Jesus.
- Personalize your experience, such as your verse of the day and reminders.
- Process subscriptions and manage your account.
- Send prayer reminders and service messages. With your permission, send encouragement and updates by email.
- Keep the Services safe, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems.
- Understand how the Services are used so we can improve them.
- Meet legal obligations.
05Children and Kids mode
Jireh accounts are for people 13 and older. Kids mode is designed for parents and guardians to share Bible stories with their children, using the parent’s account.
- Children under 13 should not create an account or use Talk with Jesus.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
- If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
06Your rights and choices
No matter where you live, you can:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete your account and personal information. You can do this in the app under Settings, or by contacting us.
- Download a copy of your information.
- Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link, and turn off notifications in your device settings.
U.S. state privacy rights
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and other states with privacy laws have the rights above, plus the right to know what categories of information we collect and to not be treated differently for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.
EU, UK, and Switzerland
If you live in these regions, we process your information to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests in running and improving the Services, with your consent (which you may withdraw at any time), and to meet legal obligations. You may also object to processing and file a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To use any of these rights, email hello@jirehbible.com. We will respond within 30 days, and we may need to confirm your identity first.
08Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep it longer for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.
09Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we will notify you as required by law.
10International transfers
Jireh is based in the United States, and your information may be processed in the United States and other countries. When we transfer information from the EU, UK, or Switzerland, we use approved safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. If the changes are significant, we will let you know in the app or by email before they take effect.
